365 Days and Counting

No swim.  I did walk.  Saw a seemingly pretty girl sleeping in her car...sad. Went to see Mom.  She barely knew I was there.  She just nodded on and off.  She's a mess.  It's time for her to go...sadly to say.  This is NO life and it's ruining what's left of Papa's.  Watched the baseball game in London. 

Walk and swim went just fine.  Saturday early mornings are the best at the gym because it's the one day the I don't have to scramble around the cleaning crew.  I'm starting to question my alarm on the phone.  First, I was sure I saw the green on my 2 AM wakeup only to find it was when I overslept yesterday.  This morning, I woke up just before the 10 PM security check and saw that the alarm was not set.  It's possible I didn't set it, but I'm just not sure. I went to see my mom in the morning (Subby wasn't there) and she drifted in and out of sleep so I didn't stay.  I went to Subby's only to fine he wasn't there.  Turns out he told me he was getting his haircut.  I enjoyed the first Bourne movie again and some other you tubes...that's about all. My routine with change in two days.

No swim no walk.  Once again, my alarm on my phone did NOT go off and I remember vividly setting it on green for 2 AM.  On the plus side, I got a little more sleep. I saw Toy Story 4  at the Fashion Mall and it was terrific!  Even with high expectations, I was surprised how often I laughed out loud...sometimes the only one. Getting very fat...I can feel it.  July 1, baby...get back to work!!!!

Walk and Swim went fine. I finally got some semblance of sleep and it felt GREAT. I went to Papa's to get the chairs for Cindy's party as Mom is once again in the hospital with stomach problems and general fatigue.  I had to wait for a dishwasher repairman who was supposed to show up from 8 to 12.  I waited until 12:30...he didn't show or even call.  I left him a note and left.

No swim no walk.  Could NOT sleep after 10 PM again...what the???? Saw Anna  yesterday and really enjoyed it.

No swim or walk. Could NOT get back to sleep after the 10 PM check.  Did some shopping and talked to Cindy about staying on to do just the trash.  I am having second thoughts now and think I will not do that. 

No swim or walk.  My alarm didn't go off and I slept almost 12 hours!  How is that possible? Didn't go anywhere.  Watched all three Bond movies.  Depressed?  Giving up?  Nah.

Walk and swim went fine, though the walk was a bit shorter than usual.  Enjoyed the swim a lot. Didn't do a DAMN thing.  Never got in the car.  Lots of TV and I continue to work on editing skills, which I expect to take me months to get truly comfortable with.

No walk or swim today.  After the 10 PM check up, I couldn't get back to sleep finally giving up and watching TV for an hour or so and then finally getting back to sleep for a few hours.  This is ONE of the good things about losing this job.  No more waking up, walking, and trying to go back to sleep...though I'd gladly continue it if I could...going to miss that $700 per month. No movie.  I did do some shopping and got gas but otherwise...never left the house.

Walk and swim were fine.  I wonder if I will EVER job again. I went to see Men in Black  and it was...okay.  I rather expected I wasn't going to love it.  It was very predictable.  But still...a fun way to spend the afternoon.  I actually used all three of my movies this week--very unusual. I got the word today that as of July 1, I will be unemployed.  I saw it coming, though not so soon, but there ya go.  I'm glad it lasted as long as it did. 

Walk and swim went fine but the swim was a bit more labored that usual.  I'm not sure why, but there are just those days, I suppose. I checked in with the office and then went to see Late Night  which I really enjoyed.  Coming back on the Trolley, I once again ran in to that teenage girl that I busted last time trying to mark up the train.  She came in with three other loud, obnoxious teens, but there was no problem other than putting up with the unnecessary profanity these kids somehow think makes them feel older.  But let's face it...kids. Not much else other than went to Mom and Pop's for dinner.  Roast beef, potatoes and gravy along with corn. I came home, watched a little TV and went right to bed.  It's nice to be back into my routine.

Walk and swim went just fine. Went to see the latest Shaft  at Fashion Valley and was pleasantly surprised--a good, funny movie. Didn't do much else.

Stayed at the Golden Gate in one of their little rooms for the one night, which turned out to be an excellent idea as driving home Monday morning worked out just fine despite a couple of bottlenecks along the way.  I would certainly pay the extra for a suite if I stayed at the GG, but it's unlikely I would as I'd rather use the MyVegas points for a Strip property. I got home at 10:30 and took the rest of the day off catching up on the Trooper and Daniel's vids.  It's great  to be back home and in my own bed. My walk went fine.  I tried jogging and my legs DO NOT like it.  The swim went well too.

Got up early, checked out and took my things to the car.  I came back down to the casino to do my last shot at VP at the Aquarius.  I first tried the single line with no good results and my final $100 in the triple plays.  It just didn't go my way.  I an not deterred from these because this trip was a loser.  I will continue to play on them.  Let's face it: They give me my best chance at a royal (I had two last trip) and if there's anything I am more convinced of than ever is that a Royal is the only way a trip will end with a profit.  If I go into that with it in the back of my mind, I should be able to weather these downswings.  Make no mistake.  I lost $1000 this trip.  I cannot sustain that for too many times.  The 8/5 progressives were much kinder to me and yes, I lost overall on them, I certainly maintained a much long session on them.  I did manage a sweet straight flush progressive for $130 on this final day.  ...

June 15, 2019 You know there’s going to be one day that simply turns to shit, and this one was it.   Things have just been going to well to continue…but there ya go.     I met Terry at the full pay machines in front of the buffet and we played NSUD.   It started out great as I held one deuce and the other three turned up.   I cashed out that ticket and put in another hundy but, of course, they didn’t return and I switched to 9/6 Bonus Deluxe.   There were no quads for me and I went back to deuces and finally lost the hundred.   Terry didn’t hit them either. We met up with Louise for the breakfast buffet (Excellent—used his two free and slot points for me).   It’s an expensive buffet and I wouldn’t pay these prices but free is always the right price. June 14, 2019 I was out of the room around 6 AM and headed downstairs.   I took a shot at another crown game with the crown and a teddy right on the edge.   Once again, the feature wouldn’t trigger and I was down almost $40 when I caught a bonus on the regular game that came with 45 spins.   When it was over I had won $60 (the base game was 45-cents, so that was pretty damn good).   Being now up, I gave up and cashed out and headed to the Zeus game, now my favorite.   I play this until I catch a feature of a bonus.   It wasn’t long until I caught a feature and having added the extra power ups, I caught four of them during the round and cashed out up $30.   So far so good for the day.    It was back to the bank of 8/5s.   The VP gods weren’t so good to me this session.   Of the five machines with the 8/5 BP, I tried every one hoping for some good luck but it just never came as quads and full houses refused to appear.   I...

June 13, 2019 My internal clock is such is that I woke up at 2 AM and having just gone to sleep at 10, that was not going to happen so I forced myself back to sleep for another three hours.   I finished up everything here in the room by 6:30 and Terry is going to meet me at the valet at 8, so I went down to the casino and played a little.   I have to admit that damn crown game lured in with the crown and a teddy right on the end, and even though I knew better, I went for it.   And again to no surprise, the feature didn’t kick in until about 95 spins (I did catch a bonus and a couple decent hits along the way, but I was still down about $45).   Of course, both the crown and the teddy went down blank holes, but I did manage the sapphire for a $31.85 win.   I am going to HAVE to stop suckering in to these games.   I then went over to the Zeus machine where I hit the bonus.   I always add the “Extra Power ups” which doubles the cost but I only play...

June 12, 2019 I finished things up in the room and got the trip report off and headed downstairs.   One of the crown machines had two teddy bears on the edge, so I gave it $40 shot without the feature making an appearance.   I then sat at the Long Bar to play their 8/6 Bonus Deluxe (the Vue Bar is under construction).   I hadn’t caught any quads and was down to $30 when all the machines at the bar locked up for whatever reason.   I cashed out and went to the 8/5 Bonus games across from the registration desk.   I went on a hell of a run and after catching quad 10s, Js, 4s, & 3s, I cashed out $240.   I walked over to the Zeus machine and played a dollar a push and caught a bonus and amazingly hit the major for $174.   I am suddenly even for my entire trip. I walked over to the Fremont where I met with Terry and had their breakfast buffet.   We walked over to the Golden at 8:45 and both got right into a game at different tables.   ...

Vegas – June 11, 2019 Trash pickup this morning had an incident.   After dropping a load and heading to pick up more, I heard a rumbling sound and looked in the rearview mirror of my golf cart to see a runaway dumpster heading down the street.   I braked and went running after it but not before it smashed into a home and then picked up speed.   I reached it and stopped it (my Superman moment).   The ding in the house can be fixed but I felt lucky it didn’t hit any cars or people.   Jose said he’d finish it up and let out early.   I left the house at 7 AM.   Aside from a couple of stop-and-goes, I made it fine to Las Vegas in 5 hours.   I was to pick up Terry and Louise at the airport at 12:30 so I had a half hour.   I stopped at the Tuscany to run a $20 through the nickel JW machines.   That went too fast with no quads, so I put in another.   I soon hit a wild Royal and soon after that a quad and cashed out $60.   I...

No walk or swim today.  Getting set up to head to Las Vegas. Went to see Dark Phoenix which got poor reviews, but I enjoyed it a lot.  No doubt Sophie Turner had a lot to do with that, but I liked it.  I had a small altercation with some youths on the Trolley who were vaping and then began to write on the side of the car, which is when I stepped in.  I notified the driver.  The kids were defiant, not surprising.  The boys stopped but the girl was obstinate.  Okay...whatever. I then made a HUGE mistake and went to the Wings and Things where I had the sampler dish and grossly over ate.  Damn it!

Walk and swim went fine. I told myself that today I would super clean the bathroom and I did.  I hate being on my knees but I know it's the only true way to get that floor and tub clean.  I hate it...but I'm glad I did it.  I'm embarrassed to admit it's probably been two or three years since I've cleaned that floor....shame on me.  I also cleaned the kitchen, so all I have left is the vacuuming and over all dusting and overt cleaning and putting things away. 

Walk and swim went fine. Did some shopping.  Bought a bucket to clean the bathroom BIG TIME.  Will do that tomorrow. Watched the commentary for Captain Marvel --picked up a couple of tips. Started a tiny bit of research for video editing.  I'll need to get to that when I return from Vegas.  I'm going to shoot a lot of short vids while I'm there to practice with.

No walk or swim today.  Had a late dinner with Mom Pop and Cindy in Alpine.  That was about all I did.  And I love it!

Walk and swim went fine. Got the car's oil change; shockingly, brakes still okay...? Honestly, didn't do anything else...other than enjoy my day. I LOVE BEING RETIRED!

No walk or swim today.  I didn't get to bed until after the 10 PM security check. I got my haircut and went to Bonsall to watch Godzilla , which was a bit too silly for me.  I then got to Carlsbad for Aubrey's graduation dinner.  I really enjoyed walking around Carlsbad.  The dinner went fine and I picked up the tab ($350) as I rarely do that sort of thing.  It's time I start spending some of my money and my family has been so good to me.  I did stop at Target to pick up a couple of shirts and was heart broken to find that at Ex. Lg was tight on me.  I have  to change.

The walk and swim went just fine.  I really do enjoy the podcasts during my walks.  I wish I could get back to jogging.  We shall see. Trash pickup went just fine and was done by 7:30.  Just learned that Jose will be taking TWO weeks off for vacation so I will be on my own.  I'm going to float perhaps picking up his hours when I return from Vegas...not likely...but who knows? I've been taking advantage of the free bonus jack every time the Padres hit a home run.  They are good burgers, but NOT good for my figure. 

Walk and swim were okay. For whatever reason, the swim was a bit labored, but I made it fine. Did Monday trash pickup and also did some shopping at Costco.  I needed to buy some summer shorts.  Unfortunately, I'm back to 38s...and they're tight.  So I will need to get my shit together soon.

Yes...I missed a day.  I also forget to put in the security report.  What the hell? I got in my walk and swim (both days) just fine. I took Cindy to Harrah's and played some games.  I did very good on the DDB VP; but lost my ass ($200) on penny slots. I have to make a pact:  No penny games unless I am playing with good profits of VP.  Stick to VP!!! Book club went very well.  Nothing much more happened.  I went to Target to buy some snacks and came home. Easy day.
