Day 15 - 2022 I can not BELIEVE I have forgotten to make an entry in this blog for THREE days and never even thought about...geez! I will say that I have made my swimming chore every day.  I took my dad yesterday to the doctor's and then Cosco where we had a hog dog...a bit of a cheat for me as I'm trying to stay away from bread.  My nothing silly. My main focus now is trying to find foods that are good for me AND taste good.  A seemingly impossible task.   I continue to read the chicken nuggets are bad, bad, and more bad for you.  Damn it!.  Today, I'm going to try making my own using my skinless chicken strips and then dip them in Egg Beaters and then bread crumbs and air fry them.  I will continue to experiment.
Day 11 - 2022 Swim went quite well.  Though I'm sure I'm not burning a lot of calories, I am certainly getting my body back to work.  I can feel it in my arms and my legs.  I am very pleased with my progress.  I would like to do more to burn calories, but the gym isn't particularly safe.  In the pool, there are only two or three people and, like me, they're in the water.   I do walk to Mesa park and back, but unfortunately, my fucking knee continues to hurt towards the end of the walk.  I just can't tell if that's good for me or not, but until it becomes unbearable, I'm going to keep that up. Breakfast was my scrambled ham omelet.  I checked the calories on the Egg Beaters and the entire carton is 500 calories, which means that I'm only using about 125 per meal.  I also add mushrooms and onions, which have no calories and then whatever the ham has.  Yes, I COULD go without the ham, but truth be told, my meals HAVE to taste goo...
Day 10 Made an appointment with doctor about dizziness, however, that has now subsided and I'm feeling much better almost normal. Swimming went well. Breakfast was the last Jimmy Dean breakfast bowl.  I may buy a couple more though I will only use them for need.  The only really bad thing about them is the potatoes and that's not that much. I did finish off the little Christmas sausages and cheese with crackers.  Perhaps a little indulgent but these certainly beat my past snacks of chips, cookies, and candies.   I played in the ECLVA poker tournament online and surprise, surprise, I won it.  It did mean I was up a little later than usual and my dinner was a chicken pot pie (640 calories).  I have one left and then that will be the end of that.   I also had some chicken nuggets with BBQ sauce.  Overall, a fairly good day.
Day 9 - 2022 A rather typical day.  Swim in the morning.  Breakfast was vegetables and ham. I'm trying out different spices to liven up the vegetables.  Let's just say, I'm still working at it.   Lunch was chicken nuggets...I'm guessing...I honestly don't remember.  Dinner was frozen spaghetti. Noteworthy:  I have been experiencing some dizziness for the past 48 hours.  Even when I get out of bed to pee, I have to hold on to something.  It's not severe, just enough to have me worried. I made an appoint on Friday to see the doctor.  If it stops (and I hope it does), I'll cancel the appointment .
Day 8 I suppose I should mention that I write these the following day meaning I'm actually writing Day 8 on Day 9.  I have to do this simply because I need the entire day to be over so I can make a complete report.  It only makes sense, but it's important to add that though I want to write them in the early morning the next day, I'm still not in the habit and at times forget until the late afternoon.  By then, my memory can be a bit sketchy on the details.     Anyway Day 8 was a good one as it was my first day back in the water at the gym.  I really missed it and it felt GREAT.  Of course, I haven't swam in over two years, so I'm terribly out of shape, but I did my best and when I was finished, I was pretty beat up.  Excellent! My crackers in the morning with coffee is going to continue to be my staple.  It not only curves my appetite for a bit, but also gives me some of my salt craving.  Some could say it's a wasted 500 calories to...
Day 7 - 2022 I did my walk around the home park and I am certainly beginning to feel the tightness in my legs as they slowly get back into shape.  I'm months and months away from physical proficiency, but I know I'm on the right road.  The BIG thing is to not get injured and to take it slow and steady. My food today was iffy.  I had the ham omelet with egg beaters this morning for breakfast (of course the usual crackers with coffee) in the early morning.  I also had a small bucket of popcorn.  It's always a mystery just how many calories that turns out to be.  For dinner, a frozen spaghetti with meatballs.  I'm sure it' not too much. My bathing suit did come in and it does fit (though tight).  It will be interesting to watch how it gets more and more comfortable as the months progress.  It will be a banner day when I have to get a smaller one...from 3X to 2X...yes...embarrassing to write this but it is what it is.   I'm fighti...
Day 6 - 2022 What a strange day food wise for me on this day.  I wanted to use the last of the sirloin meat before it went bad so cut small strips and added A1 sauce.  That was my breakfast along with the usual morning crackers with my coffee. I did finish off the cheese and sausage Christmas gift a little time later. As it's Wednesday, I took Papa on his weekly movie and dinner trip.  We watched American Underdog , the story of Curt Warner.  It was excellent and my dad thought it was the best movie he's seen in years. We then tried out a different BBQ on El Cajon Blvd that used to be the original location of Woodstock Pizza.  The place was like a taco shop.  We did order baby back ribs and that's what came--with nothing else.  Okay by me, but Pop was disappointed.  The ribs were just okay but silly expensive.  I only had four ribs (which really was enough).  It will be the last time we go there. I was a little hungry before bedti...
Day 5 Breakfast consisted of my ham and egg beater scramble.  It was good and will be a staple.  Of course, my early morning crackers with my coffee. It's interesting that I'm not missing snacking.  My routine is breakfast at 6 AM with those crackers at 2 to 3 AM.  Lunch (yesterday were two egg roles and chicken nuggets) is around 12 PM to 2 PM, and dinner is usually between 4:30 and 5:30 PM (I had the last frozen meat lasagna, which was small and was surprisingly only 340 calories). I did my walk to Mesa Park and back (about a 30 minute walk). So far...so good.
Day 4 2022 I realized I didn't mention the year in my previous posts.  It does help.  When I think that just three years ago I finished my last diet and it took only two years to add 200 pounds.  FUCK! Oh well...back to it.  Had a good day (considering it's still early).  I did my walk to the Mesa Park and watched the pickleball players.  I really miss playing that game.  I had cut steak with A1 sauce for breakfast along with some chicken nuggets.  Lunch was a frozen dinner of Swedish meatballs and dinner was the last of the chow main.   Still no bathing suit.  Hopefully, soon. My knee is bothering me on these walks, but as long as it doesn't become too painful, I'm going to stick to it.  It would take a major problem for me to cut back on the walks, which are the ONLY exercise I'm getting at the moment, but that's okay.  It's still ealy.
Day 3 So that we're clear, there will be days I don't make an entry.  I will, however, keep the Day (?) consistent with the day of the diet, not the day of the diary entry. Yesterday was okay, but not great.  I had four hot dogs leftover and a half loaf of bread.  I decided (right or wrong) to make two FINAL hot dog sandwiches.  I threw away the rest of the bread.  I also threw away the almost full vanilla ice cream half gallon.  If it's in the house, I will eat it.  I have some but not full self-control.  I'm not proud of that, but I'm honest about it. I did manage to tell my dad to stop making cookies for me and buy pie to share with me.  I confirmed I'm trying to lose weight and those items just don't work. I will still be going to the movies with him every Wednesday and will be eating the child's size popcorn.  I will top the butter topping on mine.  When we go out to eat after the movie, I will select a reasonable menu i...
Day 2 First question: how did day 1 go.  I did the walk around the mobile park in the early morning.  I did only eat three meals.  Breakfast bowl in the morning (I have one left and then those will be off the menu for a good while).  I did have my two packages of crackers with my coffee in the morning and I will continue to do that until I feel I can stop.  It is a needless 500 calories, but are they?   Lunch were the two chicken rolls and chicken nuggets.  I'm going to try to stick to chicken dishes.  Dinner was left over fried rice.  I intend to make fried brown rice and chicken dishes a main stay in this diet.   So, overall pretty good.  I did throw away the Halloween candy.  It broke my heart, but I did it   I ordered two new bathing suites as I'm too FAT for all the ones I have here.  When they come in an they do fit, I will begin my 24 Hour gym routine. I absolutely MUST take baby steps here...
It has been years since my last post.  My diet back then was a resounding success.  People complimented me right and left about my weight loss.  My happiest days were when my grandson didn't know who I was at first when I knocked on the door.  The other time was picking up my friend Terry from the airport and he, too, did not recognize me.   Of course, I FUCKED that up and put ALL that weight and more back on.  Today, I weigh a gargantuan 316 pounds--more than I have ever weighed before.   The reason? Two-fold.  I fell down stepping into a pot hold while running and badly injured my ribs.  So I had to stop running.  I credit that daily running (up to 5 miles per day after four months) and my swimming laps at the gym with the amazing weight loss (about 110 pounds).  After the injury, I fell into the trap: TV and food.  Fuck! What is wrong with me?  Why didn't I stop?  Why didn't I see what was happening to me...
