365 Days and Counting

No swim, no walk...AGAIN.  I could not get back to sleep after the security check.  I suppose I'm looking forward to the day when I no longer work more than ever. Went to see the "extended" version of Spiderman , which was BOGUS as the only thing they added were the scenes already seen in the previews.  BUT, I still enjoyed it and loved the air conditioning. 

Big Entry...Number 600! Celebrate by never leaving the house!  Things will change...

No swim or walk today.  After my 10 PM check, I couldn't get back to sleep for almost two hours.  I woke up and did my laundry room check and it was almost 4 AM.  Tomorrow... I walked the park to leave the rents...the very last time I will do this as my job ends in two weeks.  Did get some exercise in.  Had dinner a Pops...didn't eat a lot.  Mom was fine but Pop is close to the end of his rope.  He admits now that she's driving him crazy and loves any opportunity to get away from her.  He's very excited the bowling begins next week.  Donna is supposed to continue to talk him into Hospice care and get her off the regimen of pills that are keeping her alive.  She honestly is very unhappy and is hoping for this life to end.  I can't blame her.  It's such a rough situation. 

No walk or swim (other than locking the laundry rooms). Do some trash pick up and then went to see Good Boys , which turned out to be much better than I thought.  The previews made it look raunchy and stupid, but it was very sweet and sometimes silly, but always funny. Papa called me a 4 PM to come help him with the toilet at their place as it had broken, so I drove over there and when I got there, he decided to have a plumber to it tomorrow and asked me to stay with Mom while he returned the seat to Home Depot.  He was gone for more than an hour.  I suspect he took a little advantage to get away from Mom (and who could blame him?). So I got home late and slept in.

Got in my swim...no walk.  Odd sleeping hours. Did NADA!!!!

Did both the walk and the swim and all was just fine.  It's going to take a little discipline to get back to my jogging days, but I will try to slowly add more and more as the days count on. I went to McDonalds with my laptop to see if it works well there and paired my earphones and all worked just great. Nothing much else to report.

Did my swim.  I didn't do my walk.  Tim texted me at 10 PM to postpone the book club until Sept 14.  That's fine but then I couldn't get back to sleep.  I got up and watched Quick Pitch and finally fell asleep and woke up at 3 AM and did my swim.  I went to the Santee Smart and Final (I have no clue how they keep that huge store in business.  Almost every time I'm in there, there's only one cashier open and no one in line).  I wanted to get another bag of the sausage patties, but they were out of the size I wanted.  I did pick up some eggs though I paid more than they are at Walmart.  I then picked up a BBQ burger special at Jack in the Box and it was surprisingly good.  That's about it for the day.  I'm totally hooked on You Tubes.  What should I do?

Okay, so...I walked 2.5 miles before my left foot started hurting...again.  But I didn't go for my swim.  Stupid me. I went to see Where Did You Go, Bernadette? at the Fashion Mall.  It was very good, though I wouldn't necessarily describe it as a comedy.  But certainly worth the time.  That's about all I did...go figure.

Swim went fine.  Didn't do much other than go to Papa's for dinner, which was lasagna and was good.  Mom was okay, thought she didn't eat.  Papa is getting more and more frustrated with her. 

Jury is out on the swim. I'm waiting until 3:30 to go today to see the difference. This would be then new norm when I begin to walk/jog again. I had planned on seeing a movie, but had my time wrong and was on the Trolley already, so I went to IKEA and walked around.  Yes, they have a few things that I want to buy, but I will need to drive there when I do.  Nothing drastically important. Met the new manager.  Seems to be fine.  I offered my services for emergency situations. Watched Hero  on VUDU.  It holds up.  Great movie.

Did my swim...didn't do much else.  I'm addicted to You Tube....shit!

No swim today.  Woke up late and simply didn't feel up for it. Took Cindy and picked up Mom and Pop and met Donna and Rocky at La Maze Restaurant.  The food is always good there, but the prices are outrageous.  I gave Donna $80 to help with the bill.  Mom was in unusually good spirits.  Along with watching the Padre game and You Tubes...that pretty much sums up the day.

Swim went fine.  Did some shopping at Smart and Final.  Didn't do ANYTHING else.

The swim went just fine. I turned in my time sheet and THEN DIDN'T LEAVE THE HOUSE!  I watched all three of the Back to the Future movies.  Wasted day?  I dunno. I did go ahead and extend my stay in Vegas by reserving two days at the Aquarius in Laughlin.  I sure hope I catch a royal.  Ten days in casinos are going to require a few wins along the way or it's going to be a VERY expensive vacation.

Swim went fine.  I decided to go at 3:30 this morning because I wanted to avoid the cleaning crew (didn't work this morning) and to set myself up to begin my walk/jog before swimming...coming soon. Went to see Dora, the Explorer  at Fashion Valley.  It started well but slowly degenerated into your typical kiddie action movie.  Too bad...there was so much potential there. It appears I'm smart to leave my doors CLOSED all day during these heat spells.  The place does stay a tad cooler.  I leave them open all night to cool the place down.  We'll go with this for a bit and see if it's consistent.  I'm surprised that I go right to sleep at 6 PM considering it's so hot.  The fan at the side of my bed makes a very big difference.

Swim went just fine.  Always feel good that I get it done...big question now is...when will I get back to walk/jog? Big day today as I found out my last day working for the park is Sept 17. This is good news in that I planned an extended trip to Vegas/Laughlin during that time, so now I can go when I want and come back when I want...sweet! Dinner at Pop's.  Mom slept through it.  He made rib bones and potatoes.  It was excellent. Hot, hot, hot here...93 and hotter today...shit...will need to go to the movies and maybe somewhere else to stay out of the heat.  More tomorrow.

No swim today.  I did my check at 11:40 PM and slept until almost 3.  Shit, I don't know what's wrong with me lately.  It is going to require a MAJOR FULL TIME commitment to get my ass back in gear. I went and saw The Kitchen  at Fashion Valley.  It was pretty much what I expected.  It was okay. Trash pick up went just fine.  Did some shopping for more shit I shouldn't eat and called it a day.

Woke up a 1 AM and couldn't get back to sleep.  Went to do my swim early. Trash pickup was easy, though not that much...which means lots on Tue morning. I'm getting too hooked on You Tube vids.  I need to stop it as I spent THE ENTIRE DAY watching them. 

Did my swim...felt pretty good. Not much to report.  It was Sunday and I just stayed home. Terry was talkative and I guess we're going to Vegas on Sept 25 through Oct 2 or something.  Not sure about when my last day is working here at the park, but I will make arrangements either way.  Unfortunately, between Terry and Martin, I will have NO time to myself.  Shit.

I got in my swim, though it was earlier than usual.  I woke up at 1:10 AM and could not get back to sleep. It's all good. Spent most the day waiting for the Cox guy to come.  He did and set me up just fine.  I am SO much happier with this set up than with Dish. I got VERY lucky and my sob story (made up) must have worked as he only charged me $40 early leave fee.  Sweet! I now have the Padres and HBO and a lot of channels that I like. 

No swim. I'm in a serious slump.  I know I have to get out of this.  I went to the Cox people to get a new router and finally made the decision to bundle.  This will cost me $166 per month for both undated storage and speed Internet as well as Cox cable that will include the Padres and HBO and a sports package. Now Dish is charging me a hundred and my Internet was costing me a hundred and HBO was costing me $15.  I will be saving $50 per month with a much better product.  The downside is I will pay a stiff penalty for stopping Dish.  I'll eat that.

I did get my swim in.  I got up before 2 AM and was at the gym by 2.  Three dudes in the pool, but they opened a lane for me...nice. Dental appointment is Friday...not Thursday.  Aside from that...nada to report.

No swim today...I overslept.  I suppose I'm going to have to set the alarm.  Oh well.  Did some shopping and finally found my Kosher Salt at the Food for Less store...not sure why I don't shop here more often as they seem to have a better variety and cheaper prices than Vons.  I absolutely need to get back on the horse.  I feel the pounds just adding on now.  So sad. Had dinner at the folks.  He wanted me to once again buy a pizza so I decided to get a Pizza Hut pie considering the Black Market pizza (my favorite) is $22 vs Pizza Huts that is only $8.  Dinner was fine and Mom was in an okay mood.  I left $50 for Donna as my share of the portable air conditioner but was disappointed that Papa hadn't used it yet. So I have NO idea if it works or not.  If it does, I want to buy one for myself for my bedroom. 

Got my swim in.  I don't know why I fight with myself to get in the car and go to the swim.  I always come home feeling fresh and renewed.  JUST DO IT! I went to see Awkwafina in The Farewell .  It was only showing in La Jolla so I had to drive there and I am so glad I did.  I had doubts, but this film turned out to right wonderful and heartwarming.  Trash pick up went just fine.  We pretty much always get done within an hour and a half.  Of course, picking up some of it on Monday is helping but I absolutely LOVE being done before 8 AM.  Having some intermittent problems with my Internet yesterday.  Not sure if it was the heat or just some random problems.  However, all told I have been very happy with my overall Internet package.  I am seriously considering turning everything over to Cox Cable when I finish my two year requirement. 

It's official...I'm in a terrible slump.  No swim, no walk, no run.  SHIT! Went to see Boggs and Shaw .  So much better than I thought.  Mostly comedy and a lot of silly action...just my style. Did do some trash pick up and shopping...bought all crap that's bad for me.  I'm in trouble.

No swim...just wasn't into it today. Did nothing at all.

I got my swim in with the new time.  I did my security check at 10 and then went.  I'm not sure it's for me.  It was okay in that I did get back to sleep just fine; however, what does this mean on the weeks that I'm not doing security?  We shall see.  I did NOTHING yesterday...I didn't leave the house.

No swim or walk.  I overslept. I believe I will need to change my routine.  I'm thinking of getting up at the 10 PM on workdays and midnight on non-workdays and going to the pool then.  This way I am not getting in the way of the crew and vice-versa plus there have been too many nights (like last night) that I couldn't get back to sleep after the security check and then sleep too late.  We'll see how that works out. I went to see Yesterday  again at Fashion Valley and enjoyed just as much as the first time.  I was able to pick up some things I missed the first time around.  This will be one that I purchase in the future. 

No walk...I overslept...I swear I set the alarm for 2 AM, but I woke up at 2:35...did I turn it off and go back to sleep?  I honestly don't remember.  I did get up and go swimming, but the cleaning lady had the hose across the entire pool plus I forgot my sandals...a sign?  I only did a bit of swimming and will give it another shot tomorrow. I've gotten hooked on a new series called The Boys .  It's a lot of fun.  I watched some episodes and then picked up a pizza at Black Market pizza for Papa and I.  I honestly love that pizza, but $22 for a medium pizza is very stiff. They need to re-evaluate their pricing.  Mom didn't eat and Papa and I had a good talk...it's the first time I've gotten the hint that Papa is now almost anxious for her to pass as well.  We both agree she has ZERO life and is sleeping 20 hours a day and eating almost nothing.  He told me he is sure her time is very short.  That's a HUGE step for him.
